About us

Bibelkirken (The Bible Church) is an independent congregation that emphasizes expository preaching and close spiritual fellowship, desiring to live according to the teachings of the Bible.
A brief history of Bibelkirken
Bibelkirken was founded in 2015. It was started by a group of friends who were looking for a biblically grounded church that aligned with their convictions and practice of Scripture. After much prayer, reflection on God's word, and discussion, the church was established. God has richly blessed the church and guided us through both joys and sorrows, and the church has grown slowly but surely over the years. In the beginning, the congregation met in the homes of various members before we began renting locations. During the pandemic, we held outdoor services (see picture) when meeting indoors was prohibited. For many years, we met at Bjerke in Oslo, but in recent years, we have been meeting every Sunday at Normisjon's premises in Lillestrøm.
Our Elders
The elders are the church's leaders and pastors. We believe that the terms elders, overseers, and shepherds are often used to describe the same ministry/role in the Bible. Currently, the elders are the only ones who are formally appointed to ministry in the church, but many other members help out with various tasks within the congregation. .
